Foundation has given grants to credit
unions and related organizations for
innovative development initiatives that
support our three-tiered approach to
improving consumer financial
independence through education and
credit unions. These tiers include:
access to affordable, financial
services, financial literacy, savings
and asset accumulation. |

The
National Federation of Community
Development Credit Unions.
Established in 1974 by a coalition of
credit union leaders dedicated to
revitalizing low-income communities, the
Federatioin's mission is to strengthen
the credit unions that serve low-income,
urban and rural communities -- known as
"community development credit unions,"
or CDCUs. We carry out our mission
by advocating for and providing
financial, technical, and human
resources to CDCUs. |

The
Coalition of Community Development
Financial Institutions.
Formed in
1992 as an ad-hoc policy development and
advocacy initiative, the Coalition of
Community Development Financial
Institutions (CDFI Coalition) is the
lead national organization in the United
States promoting the work of community
development financial institutions (CDFIs).
Through its member organizations, the
Coalition represents CDFIs working in
all 50 states and the District of
Columbia. This national network of CDFIs
includes community development loan
funds, community development banks,
community development credit unions,
microenterprise lenders, community
development corporations and community
development venture capital funds. The
CDFI Coalition coordinates industry wide
initiatives to increase the availability
of capital, credit and financial
services to low-income communities
across the nation. |

The CITYbuild Consortium of Schools seeks to facilitate productive, multi-disciplinary collaboration among national university-based Architecture, Landscape and Planning programs to address all facets of the community rebuilding needs of New Orleans. By linking schools directly with local community partners, CITYbuild promotes the value and relevance of University Design-related programs while pursuing social equity. |
